To The Wilmington Board Of Education

I would be remiss if I failed to address the summer feeding program for the many hungry children living just a few hundred yards north of Holmes school in the Highland/Southridge subdivision. It almost impossible for these children to get to the only current location at the middle school.
In the past the ability to walk to Holmes was a safety issue due to heavy traffic on Truesdell. The “safe way to schools” sidewalk and bridge to Holmes from Randolph, to be completed this spring, will alleviate that problem. It makes sense to me that, a no district cost, summer lunch program be expanded to include the neediest constituency in the school district.
The success of the middle school summer feed program should be duplicated at Holmes.
