Ryan
is touting the fact that his health plan, while reducing service,
will include $337
billion in deficit reduction over ten years. This is pocket change.
Reducing defense service by half would save $2.62 Trillion with a T
over ten years. Reducing
the Veterans service budget by half would save $910 Billion.
If
the government won't provide services for its citizens that they
cannot provide for themselves individually what's the point of the
exercise?
There
is an alternate means to decrease the deficit, but that would require
a bit of pain and suffering on the congressional paymaster's part.
