to see the life of existing landfill space extended and a reduced
need for opening new sites.
Another
benefit is the saving of finite natural resources such a petroleum,
trees and metals. Our grandchildren will thanks us if we continue to increase our recycling efforts.

1990 to 2012, in
Ohio.
the highest landfill disposed pounds of solid waste per person per
day was 5.46 pounds. The lowest point was 2012, the
last year of record,
was
4.07 pounds.
If applied to Wilmington's landfill, the savings of landfill space
would be 28,00o cubic yards per year.
